The CROUS, the University, and the City and Eurometropolis of Strasbourg are joining forces to support you as you begin the 2025–2026 academic year. We’re here to help you settle in and navigate the necessary steps, so we invite you to discover the highlights of your first semester and find useful information for your daily life on this page.
Welcome to Strasbourg ! Whether you’re a new student or already settled in, the start of the academic year, here some tips to buy low price. Furniture, crockery, clothes, a bike, stationery or food: there are plenty of local options that let you snap up bargains, opt for second-hand items and consume more responsibly.
A new city, new routes, a new academic year! With its cycle network and the many options available for those on a tight budget, the capital of Alsace is particularly well suited to getting around on two wheels.
The "Strasbourg Loves Its Students" initiative is managed by the Student Life team within the Higher Education, Research, and Innovation Department (ESRI) of the City and Eurometropolis of Strasbourg.

Strasbourg Loves Its Students provides information and welcomes thousands of students from France (both mainland and overseas territories) and around the world who are studying in Strasbourg or the surrounding towns (Schiltigheim, Illkirch-Graffenstaden, Lingolsheim, etc.). This initiative is led by the Student Life Unit of the City and Eurometropolis of Strasbourg’s Department of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
At the start of the academic year, the City and Eurométropole of Strasbourg are partnering on numerous highlights to inform you about various services: subsidized rates for various services, the network of public libraries, sports facilities, cultural venues... and offers a back-to-school program listing free events (see below) and themed news (cycling, affordable gear, internships & jobs...).
In partnership with organizations in the Strasbourg area, “Strasbourg Loves Its Students” offers free activities and events exclusively for students: soccer, basketball, and ice hockey games; tours of the cathedral and European institutions; late-night museum hours…
