Compagnie notre insouciance
The Compagnie notre insouciance is a public space theatre company run by Juliette Hecquet, director, actor and cultural mediator. Since 2018, Notre insouciance has worked with around twenty artists with multidisciplinary backgrounds: theatre, music, dance, audiovisual and visual arts. It delights in tackling society's issues with poetry, irony and insouciance.
The shows are designed for exchange and sharing in third places, festivals and non-dedicated spaces such as gardens, schools, gymnasiums and public squares. Every time we create a show, we take the opportunity to meet the audience and surprise those who don't think of themselves as theatre-goers.
Starting with laboratories, improvisations and collective writing, the creative process is a constant invitation to question ourselves, artists and audiences alike, about our posture in the face of reality. How do we keep our footing? There's only one thing that's clear: whether gathered together on stage or scattered all over the place, it's always the same body that pulsates, expands and contracts. Let's keep in ‘Notre’ the desire to find ourselves again, and in ‘Insouciance’ that state of wonder - sometimes bewilderment - to create again and again.
