Need to Cool Down?
Open Schoolyards for Everyone to Refresh
To ensure everyone can benefit from cool spots during the intense heat, the City of Strasbourg is opening six schoolyards to all residents from July 8 to August 25.
These schoolyards often feature picnic tables, huts, deck chairs, play areas, grassy and shaded spaces, and areas for sports activities. Games such as molky, kubb, giant mikado, badminton, catch ball, giant chalk, sack toss, and giant tic-tac-toe are available for free. Additionally, associations will offer activities and entertainment including music, reading, and sports.
Six schoolyards are accessible on weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at: Langevin, Vinci, Albert-le-Grand, and Canardière. Schoepflin is open from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends. Louvois is open from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends.
Throughout the year, the City of Strasbourg is redesigning and greening the courtyards of schools and early childhood establishments to provide the best educational conditions for children, combat climate change, and reinvent the uses and diversity of these spaces.
Summer in the Parks and Cool Spots
Be enchanted by the beauty and tranquility of Strasbourg's many parks, where nature flourishes and lush vegetation offers a refreshing respite in the heart of the city. Take the opportunity to admire the Urban Nature Park, stroll through the pathways of Schulmeister Park, relax in the Citadel Park, and rejuvenate in the natural reserves, green spaces, or the cool spots located throughout the streets of Strasbourg.
Summer in Pools and Lakes
There are plenty of options to enjoy the summer with your feet in the water in our region's pools and lakes. Extended opening hours provide more time for fun, and activities for adults such as aquagym, aquadeep, and aquabike are available.
Summer holidays are the perfect time for children to learn to swim. Sign them up for aquatic awakening courses (ages 4-6) or swimming school (ages 6-11).
In pools and lakes: Always keep an eye on your children! Drowning can happen in a matter of seconds.
